What do you think about this celebration??? To me it's about lots of things... Ia bukan sekadar bermaksud keamanaan, tapi ia juga memberi kita kuasa penentu akan nasib bangsa dan negara kita sendiri... Kalau kita lemah, maka lemahla negara kita... tapi kalau kita kuat, maka kuatlah negara kita, stabil dan makmur... it's all in our hands..
Bak kata pepatah... tak kenal maka tak cinta la kan... here's a quick fact : After independence in 1957, Kuala Lumpur was the capital of the Federation of Malaya and continued to be the capital of the renamed Federation of Malaysia in 1963. For the occasion of independence, A large stadium, Stadium Merdeka (Independence Stadium), was built, where Malaysia's first Prime Minister, Tunku Abdul Rahman, declared Malaya's independence in front of a massive crowd. With the shouts of "Merdeka! Merdeka! Merdeka! and the Malayan flag was raised.
The formation of the Federation of Malaysia was then announced on September 16, 1963. However the Independence Day celebration is still held on August 31, the original independence date for Malaya. This has caused some minor discontent among East Malaysians in particular since it has been argued that celebrating the national day on August 31 is too Malaya-centric.
I think that's enough right... kalau tak cukup tanya saya atau buat research sendiri ...
I hope that this country will progress ... and makes it way to Vision 2020 with all the effort of our joined forces as a Malaysian citizen... anway I'M PROUD TO BE MALAYSIAN
